SNS Mowj
(Lead Ship of the Moudge Class, first Iranian home produced frigate in conception)
It was a hot day in Bandar Abbas, only cooled by the fresh and wet winds from the see coming land site. The 14th of June 2008, Grand Admiral Farrukh Yazdān waited nervously alongside his colleagues and subordinates from the Admiralty, the Port Administration, Coast Guard and ofc the Dockyard Workers Union. Not only was this the day of the first Ceremonial ship launching of an Iranian home made frigate, though ofc almost all weapons and electronic systems still needed to be installed and tested after the launch, but also would the Shah'an'Shah himself visit the launch.

Two times already the date had been postponed, due the admirals and head of Constructions worries. The Shah had answered always with an remarkable calmness, some that seemed also to reach the defense minister itself. The message was clear: take your time as much as needed, but don’t fail on the presentation day!
And this was today, as much now Farrukh had reason to be proud of his navy and his nations shipyards, still Iran never launched a fully home made frigate themselves and there history of shipbuilding was not directly one of pure success...

In the sun the white parade uniforms of the 4th, 5th and 6th Marine Battalion gleamed almost, the light blue parade uniforms of over 250 Coast Guards, doing the security of the Launch dock area complimented the view. Over 1000 Officials from Navy and Government, Industry and the Bandar Abbas Harbor complex stood on the grandstand dockside, Farrukh on his little podium at the bottom of it. And then he heard the Navy Marching Band play the Hym of the King. After the pahalvis the Shah adopted this song as his own, to not emphasis his rule as much as with the old Pahlavi Anthem from 1933-79.
First one could hear the band playing, then the 3 singers began as the first Paykan Limousin of the convoy arrived. Alongside a red Carpet, 177 Anûšiya presented there weapons, the french supplied FAMAS from the days just after establishing monarchy and free elections again.
In an applause of the officials and also some hundreds of visitors on the other side of the Dock Shah'an'Shah Gustàsp III and his Wife, Queen Amereta exited there car and walked towards there places in the royal loge, right next to the loge of the Navy Deputy Ārya-Bṛzāna. An Unofficial rule which the Shah applied to was, not to official conduct business with its Ministers, to emphasis the separation of Crown and elected Government.

The Shah got seated after greeting the Deputy and some other important representatives from Navy and Dockyard Construction. The Band silenced and a little tension lay in the quit that occurred after this eruption of applause and music before.
Then Farrukh got to his microphone, a little dot on the mike to test its functionality before the Grand Admiral spoke, behind him the Hull of the Mowj, ready for tits Stern-frist launch:

Your Imperial Majesty, Shahanshah of Iran Gustàsp III,
Your Majesty Queen Amereta,
Members of the Imperial Court,
Honored guests, officers and sailors of the Imperial Iranian Navy,
Engineers, workers, and citizens of Iran,

Today we stand at the edge of the sea and at the threshold of history.

For centuries the waters of the Persian Gulf and the greater oceans beyond have carried the ships of empires, merchants, explorers, and defenders. These waters have witnessed the rise of great civilizations, among them the ancient empire of the Achaemenids, whose vision first bound together lands from the Indus to the Mediterranean. Even then, our ancestors understood that the strength of a nation lies not only upon the land, but upon the sea that connects the world.

Today, with the launching of this vessel — the first domestically produced frigate of the Moudge class — Iran reaffirms that ancient truth.

This ship is more than steel, electronics, engines, and weapons systems. It is the result of years of dedication by Iranian engineers, shipbuilders, scientists, and sailors. In every welded plate, every cable laid, and every system tested lives the determination of a nation that has chosen self-reliance and mastery of its own destiny.

The Moudge-class frigate represents a new chapter for our navy. Designed and built by Iranian hands, she carries modern radar and sensor systems, advanced missile armament, and the endurance required to defend our maritime interests far beyond our shores. She will patrol the Persian Gulf, safeguard the Strait of Hormuz, and stand ready wherever the flag of Iran must be present upon the seas.

But even more important than her weapons is the spirit she embodies.

A navy is not built merely in shipyards — it is built in the hearts of the men and women who serve. The sailors who will walk her decks will inherit a tradition that stretches back to the earliest guardians of the Persian seas. They will sail not only as warriors, but as ambassadors of a civilization thousands of years old.

Under the guidance of His Imperial Majesty, Iran has rediscovered confidence in its heritage and strength in its future. The rebirth of our maritime power reflects that same spirit: proud of the past, capable in the present, and ambitious for the future.

Let this ship be a symbol to our people and to the world.

A symbol that Iran builds.
A symbol that Iran endures.
A symbol that Iran sails forward with dignity and purpose.

In a few moments Her Majesty Queen Amereta will perform the sacred and honored duty of christening this vessel. With that act she will give this ship not only a name, but a place within the living story of our navy.

May the seas be fair beneath her keel.
May her watch be vigilant and her missions just.
May those who serve aboard her return safely to their families and their homeland.

And may this frigate stand for decades to come as a guardian of Iran’s sovereignty, a testament to Iranian ingenuity, and a proud servant of the Shahanshah and the Iranian nation.

Applause occurred as the Admiral ended, the Band started the Kings Hymn again, as the Queen got up to walk down a prepared blue carpeted stair towards the ships hull.
The Admiral bowed and presented her the Bottle of Iranian Wine, Syrah, which teh Queen hold up on his band to baptise the ship. "I name this ship Mowj, the Wave of our Nation!"
With a thumb the bottle broke against the hull, the Admiral gave a sign, the Band played the Navy tune and the ship began its launch, first slow, then faster until it successful launched into the sea, producing the Waves in the harbor, which resampled its very name.
