Portugal and the United Kingdom share a long-standing relationship rooted in maritime responsibility and strategic understanding. In the present international environment, I believe there is value in translating this shared history into modern, practical cooperation.

Portugal is particularly interested in closer dialogue on Atlantic naval security, joint training opportunities, and operational coordination. Our aim is not symbolic alignment, but tangible cooperation that enhances readiness and stability. We would welcome either an initial exchange at the political level or a more technical discussion between our naval and defense authorities to identify areas where cooperation could be expanded, including exercises or shared maritime initiatives.
